Brave Hearts at Home: Military Kids Coloring Book (Soft Cover)
Description
Time apart is hard on little hearts. Brave Hearts at Home gives military kids a simple, creative way to understand what their soldier does, name the big feelings that come with goodbyes, and stay connected until the next hug — now as a real, ready-to-hand-over book.
Made with care, for everyday goodbyes — not a substitute for professional support if your child is struggling.
Built With Military Families in Mind
💛
Feelings Pages
Help kids point to what they feel when the words won't come.
🌙
Connection Rituals
"Same Moon, Same Stars," mail call, and video-call pages keep their soldier part of everyday life.
🔗
30-Link Countdown Chain
Turns "a long time" into something they can see and color.
🌬️
Star Breathing
A calming tool kids can use on their own, any time they need it.
🏠
The Whole Journey
Welcome-home, moving (PCS), and "Home Front Hero" pages — not just the goodbye.
📝 For Grown-Ups
Every page ends with a short tip — a practical conversation starter for the parent at home, a grandparent, or a teacher. And since the book says simply "my soldier," it fits any child with someone who serves.

A Few Questions We Get
Will this bring up hard feelings instead of helping?
It can open the door to a conversation, which is the point — most kids are already carrying those feelings. Each page gives them (and you) a gentle, low-pressure way in, not a reason to dwell.
What if my child doesn't want to talk while coloring?
That's fine — there's no script to follow. Some kids color quietly and that's enough; others open up on their own time. The "For Grown-Ups" tips are there if and when you want them.
Is this a substitute for counseling or therapy?
No — it's a comfort and connection tool for everyday deployment stress, not professional care. If your child is struggling significantly, please reach out to a counselor, your unit's family support resources, or your pediatrician.
What ages is this really for?
Ages 3–10 is the sweet spot. Younger kids can color alongside a grown-up reading the page aloud; older kids in that range can go through it on their own.
